The abduction of Madeleine McCann.
The international number for Crime stoppers is +44 1883 731 336.
People with information about Madeleine can call anonymously.

Loving God, we pray for the family and friends of Madeleine McCann, the little girl from the village of Rothley in Leicestershire (UK), abducted whilst on holiday in Portugal. Look with pity on their distress and uncertainty. Give them courage and the assurance of your arms of love upholding them. Assist, we pray, the authorities as they search for Madelaine, that she may be found safe and well. We ask this prayer in the name of Jesus, our loving Lord and Saviour.

Welcome to Gbtamc.co.uk

This is me !

Hello and welcome to the home page of my web site. Please use the tabs at the top of the screen to view other pages. Here you will find a small selection of my digital photographs, together with links to my church web site, my personal WebLog and my Agatha Christie site.

For more years than I care to remember I have been interested in photography, especially when digital cameras and high powered computers became freely available. In recent years I have been involved in the production of an Intranet for the firm I workd for until I took early retirement in 2006, and also the web site for my church.

About the site design

This site uses my own variation of a great open source template by Dave Reeder Design. The original template is available for download from here. Although the template appears to be simple and the CSS is quite small, it is highly versatile. Fluidity.com is a fluid layout which has all the CSS needed to create one, two, three or four column layouts. Because the template uses a row div called "rowcontainer" to keep the columns together, you can mix and match the number of columns in any order on one page. You can see more of David's work on his web site: www.davereederdesign.com.

Important update 2007

There is now a special part of my web site where you will find lots of my images which is situated HERE. This part of the web site uses the Simple Picture Gallery Manager the source of which can be found HERE and another way of displaying images is situated HERE and uses the Maian gallery manager the source of which which can be found HERE.

A taste of some of the pictures available on this site

This site is all about my digital imaging. I have found that there are many different ways to display images, and the links at the top of the page use just one system, involving the manual preparation of thumbnail images which may be clicked to view a larger version. However, another very effective ways of displaying images (available here) is to use the html div type to add as many pictures as needed, with a JavaScript control program. This is very much favoured by the BBC web site galleries. Not wishing to be outdone by the BBC, here is just a small sample of my church photos using this type of system. Click the number of the image to view, or click the Next button.

Another way of displaying images.

Mouse over the following image - and it will grow - mouse out and it will shrink !
The original Javascript routine and instructions are available from http://www.nsftools.com/tips/ImageResize.htm. It's a great routine.

This space in left blank intentionally to make room for the expanding graphic.

New Agatha Christie web site

Agatha Christie is known throughout the world as the Queen of crime. Her books have sold over a billion copies in the English language with another billion in 44 foreign languages and she is the most widely published author of all time in any language, out-sold by only the Bible and Shakespeare. She is the author of 66 crime novels, 13 short story collections, 19 plays, and 6 novels written under the name of Mary Westmacott. Now I have a web site that gives a short summary of the plots of all 66 of her full length novels - and a link for each which will show the solution of the mystery. Check it out using the tab at the top of this page. Link to AgathaChristie

My pet dogs

Over the last 40 years my wife and I have had 7 dogs, sometimes singly, sometimes in twos. On the Pets page you will find thumbnail pictures which you may click to view larger, popup, views. Link to Pets

Churches

When I first bought a digital camera I needed a subject on which to test it. As Leicestershire has some lovely old Parish churches, that was the subject I needed. There are 3 interlinked pages of thumbnails. Link to Churches

Leicester

The county of Leicestershire has some beautiful countryside. Here are just a few pictures of the many and varied scenery and activities to be found in the county. Link to Leicester

Church

In addition to my own site which you are viewing now, I have also developed and maintain a web site for my locla Methodist Church using the Etomite content management system. This sytem is really great, and makes regular maintenance of the site a breeze. Link to Church site

WebLog

I also have my own WebLog which is maintained by the Thingamablog (TAMB) system. The subjects on the WebLog are many and varied. Before finally deciding to use TAMB I had already tried WordPress, Serendipity and several others, but found TAMB just right for me. Link to Blog
